About:-
JMET is a qualifying examination for the two-year full-time postgraduate Management degree programs offered by IISc and IITs, Usually conducted in December, JMET is conducted by IITs. After qualifying the entrance test, applicants have to apply to the institutes separately. However, one has to fulfill the eligibility criteria of the institutes as well. Participating institutes shortlist candidates on the basis of their performance in JMET who then undergo institute-specific selection procedures such as interviews and group discussions.
Pattern:-
JMET test is of 2 hours and contains 150 questions devided in four sections. Out of which three sections, Verbal Communication, Logical Reasoning and Quantitative Ability have equal weightage of questions (40 questions each). And fourth section Data Interpretation contains 30 questions. Each question one mark.
Eligibility:-
Each Institute has its own criteria for selection of candidates. Students who have completed the specified degree or are in final year of their programmes can appear for JMET. Final year students can only secure provisional admission in an Institute. They need to complete the qualifying degree successfully and submit the provisional degree certificate before the deadline specified by the Institute.
